K-1 NEWS

Family Groups have been chosen in preparation for Sports Day and other family group activities throughout the year. Please be on the lookout for a t-shirt in your child’s family group color for Sports Day on Friday, Sept. 30.
FAMILY GROUP COLORS:
Red—Nari, Hunter
Blue—DJ, William, Christian
Purple—Michelle, Kylie
Green—Draven, Charish, Hailey
SOCIAL STUDIES. Know first and last name, address, & phone number. We will be discussing more safety issues this week.
LANGUAGE. Both classes should practice reading color words. Use flashcards and practice daily.
KNOW LEFT FROM RIGHT. All children should know their left from their right. Review at home to help out.
SPELLING/READING. Responsibility sheets for first graders went home this week. Remember to have your child practice reading each sheet. When 90% accuracy is reached, have your child sign it and a parent initial it. Then return it to school in homework folders.
First graders are learning to read and spell these words: yes no is here not Jesus
We made up our own counting books entitled 10, 9, 8.
When your child brings home his/her book, please have your child practice reading it till it is perfect, initial it, and send it back to school once all the pictures have been colored. We will share our books with each other.MATH. First graders are working on subtraction facts through 10. Use flashcards for practice. Kindergarteners can practice making 3 unit patterns.
WEEK OF PRAYER
has been postponed until after our assembly room is completed. Praise God that the room is nearly completed. We should be done by the end of September!Do you have:
